Introduction to Life Drawing

An intensive introduction that covers most technical aspects of representational figure drawing. It's a lot to take in, in just two days but it will be lots of fun and anyone attending will go away with a much better understanding of what life drawing is about.

 

This course will be held on a Thursday and Friday during term time.

 

Details:

Day 1:

Introduction: Drawing as seeing. (No Model).
Complex forms to simple shapes.

Tea Break.

Direction and Movement.
Seeing the whole pose.

Lunch

The parts of the body.
Head to toes.

Tea Break.

Putting it all together.

 

Day 2:

Measurement and proportion.
Systems of measuring.

Tea Break.

Forms in space.
Creating the illusion of perspective.

Lunch

Light and Planes.
Drawing mass (using charcoal).

Tea Break.

Final poses.
