Rose Popay
BA(HONS) fine art sculpture Bretton Hall University of leeds
Born in Bath in 1974 to parents that are highly involved in Bath's Natural Theatre Company. Rose also performs internationally with them involving various comedy characterisations and surreal walk about appearances. She was always encouraged to play. The eccentric life style Rose has been brought up in has certainly influenced her work and approach to life.
Rose recently worked for five years fabricating for Damien Hirst. She left to focus on her own art practice and work within the community. She has over 10 years of workshop and teaching experience. Her workshops are exciting and fun and will leave her pupils inspired.
Drawing has always been strong element in her practice. She has a large body of work using marker pen based canvases, Surreal oil paintings, chunky landscaped pots, multi material fabrications, charcoal and digital drawings.
Rose Popay's interests are diverse, her confident use of mediums gives her art a wonderful sense of energy.
