Drawing, Paint and Colour

This is a structured course for anybody who would like to develop paintings and drawings over a whole day. By working from a range of subjects (including the life model) we will explore the technical, practical, intuitive and expressive qualities of paint and colour and their relationship to drawing.

As the course progresses students will have the opportunity to develop through a series of exercises and processes towards work which better reflects their own interests and direction. Each day will include a short introduction with examples from contemporary and historical artists and opportunities for group reflection and discussion.

Students will be encouraged to keep a sketchbook, if they wish to.

We will work with a range of materials, most of which will be provided, including Acrylic paint.
